Prof. Leyland (SOAS, University of London) wird im Rahmen der Vorlesung „Rechtsvergleichung und ausländisches Privatrecht“ von Prof. Kindler einen Gastvortrag mit dem Titel „UK's common law tradition in transition? AI decision making, E-justice, remote hearings and paperless hearings“ in englischer Sprache halten. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen, an der Veranstaltung teilzunehmen. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.

The presentation has four broad objectives:

• to provide familiarity with the historical foundations of the English constitutional and legal system;
• to consider the importance of the rule of law and the role of the courts in the UK;
• to situate the common law style of judging in comparative perspective; and
• to conclude by drawing attention to the UK’s evolving relationship with the EU in light of new initiatives and very recent global developments.
